The method involves fabricating a cooking plate (2) and a frame (3) of a cover (1) separately, where the plate is made in vitroceramic. The plate is introduced in a groove of the frame when the frame is hot and when frame is fixed to the plate by retraction of material constituting the frame. The frame fixed to the plate does not extend vertically above upper surface of the plate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a cover comprising a cooking plate and a frame (2) a cooking apparatus e.g. mobile cooking apparatus.
