The circuit has a voltage dividing assembly having a measuring resistance (Rmess) and a switching element (T1) e.g. photodiode or photosensor, where the element is electrically conductive in response to the reception of electromagnetic radiation by an optical receiver. An additional current source circuit (Aadd) is coupled in parallel to the resistance and causes an additional current flow across the switching element in the case of over exposure of the receiver.
