Use of a cosmetic and/or dermo-cosmetic containing herbal extract base of Pyrus malus for the preparation of a cosmetic product to correct, maintain and improve the moisture level of the skin. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic or dermo-cosmetic composition, to correct, maintain and/or improve the moisture level of the skin, comprises a herbal extract of Pyrus Malus. ACTIVITY : Dermatological. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Aquaporin-3 inhibitor. The inhibitory effect on aquaporin-3 was tested in nasal epithelium keratinocyte cells using biological assay. The result showed that the inhibitory effect of herbal extract was 172% while that of control was 100%.
