The socket has a cylindrical and hollow body, and elastic outer conducting elements (5) and inner elements (6) projecting respectively with respect to the outer and inner surfaces of the body. The elements (5, 6) are arranged on the body such that the insertion of a terminal element (51) of an electrical component (50) exerts force on the elements (6) to increase the section of an enveloping cylinder of the body supporting on the elements (5). A shoulder (8) supports on a substrate (52) when the socket is inserted in a hole of the substrate. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a component on a substrate.
