Granulated sorbitol with high sorbitol content comprises a content of gamma form sorbitol crystals at 72-80 wt.% and a water uptake 0.7%, preferably 0.55-0.6% i.e. determined by measuring the difference in weight variation at 60-30% of relative humidity. An independent claim is included for preparation of the granulated sorbitol comprising pulverization of a sorbitol blend on a crystallized sorbitol and dry maturation of the granulated sorbitol.
