In the production of automobile interior cladding (2) consisting of a support (4) covered by a decorative skin, by applying heated material (A) for forming at least part of the support to the skin so that (A) adheres to the skin on cooling, a heat activated adhesive-coated zone of an ornamental insert (8) is applied to the opposite side of the skin from the support so that the adhesive is activated by heat from (A) and the insert adheres to the skin.
