The apparatus has a daughter board (36) with an interfacing circuit (38) which is in wireless connection with a portable telephone (40). An application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) (42) has a controlling circuit to control the circuit (38) and a two-directional communication circuit for communication with a micro-controller (26) of a mother board (16). The board (36) is coupled with the board (16) in an operating manner for changing of the apparatus between telephone and radio/audio modes in which the apparatus is controlled by the circuit (42) and micro-controller, respectively.
