Auxiliary moving or braking unit controlling method for e.g. aerial cable transport installation, involves determining curve representative of variation of vehicle speed, and determining value of instantaneous torque
The method involves determining a curve representative of variation of speed of vehicles (17) when service and safety brakes (20, 21) and evacuation drive (22) are in normal active state, the vehicles are in load and a main motor (18) is not supplied. A value of instantaneous torque, which is transmitted to a drive pulley (12) to reproduce inertia effects and resisting torque in the pulley, is determined. The brakes and drive are activated to the active state to realize their control when the vehicles are empty, and the motor is controlled to obtain a torque equal to the determined value. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing an auxiliary moving or braking unit controlling method.
