The tool comprises filamentary sol-gel alumina abrasive grain having length-to-cross sectional width aspect ratio of greater than about 1.0, agglomerated abrasive grain granules including abrasive grains held in three dimensional shape by a binding material and at least about 35 volume percent porosity. An independent claim is included for manufacturing method of bonded abrasive tool.
