The transceivers (2) are located with respect to wheels (6a-6d) and triggering device (5) is arranged on vehicle at different distance from transceivers, to transmit trigger signal. Each transceiver receives trigger signal, determines strength of trigger signal threat, corrects determined strength using correction value and transmits response signal indicative of corrected strength. A receiver (3) receives response signals and identifies wheel on which transceiver that transmits response signal is located, based on corrected strength indicated by response signal. An independent claim is included for tire inflation pressure detecting apparatus.
