The device has an image processing unit which processes images from a paper document image sensing unit e.g. scanner, and extracts functional parameters of the images. A requesting unit requests additional information of a user, where the information depends on one of the extracted parameters. The processing unit is adapted to identify a procedure to which a recognized type of document corresponds and to search additional information necessary to a paper document for performing the procedure. The processing unit transmits the searched information to an information request unit. An independent claim is also included for a method of interaction with a user.
