The pillar (14) has a motorized member driving a leaf (12) about a rotational axis (18) which is located at a distance from the pillar. The member has a motor element e.g. gear motor, housed in the pillar and a torque transmitting element e.g. chain, for transmitting torque from an output shaft to a hinge so as to rotate the hinge. An electronic control unit has a controller for controlling torque and rotation speed of the motor element. The hinge is positioned between upper and lower ends of the leaf and supported by the pillar for cooperating with a fixed pivot on the leaf.
