The chamber (S) consists of a fixed outer cylindrical wall (6) with openings (9, 10) on opposite sides, and a rotary inner cylindrical wall (5) with a single opening (8) that is aligned with the outer wall openings in turn to allow people to pass through one at a time. The inner cylindrical wall rotates about a vertical axis that is offset relative to the door frame uprights, and the whole revolving chamber is set in a frame (13, 14) that pivots relative to an existing door frame so it can be put into service as and when necessary and locked in place.
