The device has a balancing mechanism adapted to act on a main pulley (5) based on open and closed positions of a shutter (1). The balancing mechanism has a toothed wheel integrated with the pulley, and a gas damper (16) connected through an end (161a) of a rod (161) to a toothed sector carried by a crown, at a distance from a rotation center of the crown. The toothed sector is rotated approximately 90 degrees around an axis during passage of the shutter between the positions.
