The brake shoe (1) has a web (11) integrated to an inner periphery of an arched rim (10) and a lining (12) integrated to an outer periphery of the rim, where the rim is made of friction material. The rim has reinforcing ribs (13) on the inner periphery for modifying the rigidity of the rim along its length so as to obtain a uniform distribution of a braking pressure of the brake shoe on the entire width of the rim.
