Motor vehicle gearbox, has secondary shaft with main synchronizing system to secure rotation of drive and main gear pinions, and intermediate shaft with intermediate synchronizing system to secure rotation of intermediate gear pinions
The gearbox has coaxial and hollow primary shafts (9, 11) connected to a vehicle engine via clutches. A secondary shaft (47) has a drive pinion (48) meshing with a ring gear (15) of the vehicle differential, a main gear pinion (56) meshing with teeth (51) of one primary shaft, and a main synchronizing system (57) to secure the pinions` rotation. An intermediate shaft (8) has a gear pinion (65) rotatably linked with the shaft (11), a gear pinion (67) freely rotatable relative to the shaft (8), and an intermediate synchronizing system (66) to secure the rotation of the pinions (65, 67). An independent claim is also included for a method for transmitting engine torque for a motor vehicle.
