The backlight (1) has a light source (11), and an optical distribution component (13) placed below an optical valve. The optical distribution component ensures homogeneous distribution of light, and the light source includes LEDs of different types emitting optical spectrum. A light guide (12) made of polymethyl metacrylate is situated between the light source and the optical distribution component such that the light source is arranged in a heat dissipation zone of a display device when the backlight is mounted on the display device.
