The method involves sending nitrogen rich liquid (19) from a cryogenic distillation apparatus (NRU) to another cryogenic distillation apparatus (ARU) e.g. synthesized gas separation apparatus, if the percentage of nitrogen (3) contained in an impure natural gas (15) of a cryogenic separation exceeds a given threshold. The nitrogen rich liquid is sent from the latter apparatus to the former apparatus if the percentage of nitrogen contained in the impure natural gas of the cryogenic separation is lower than the given threshold. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for implementing a method of integrating a cryogenic separation of a mixture with another cryogenic separation.
