Use of a lipophilic antioxidant as active principle for the preparation of a cosmetic and/or dermatological composition to maintain and/or reinforce the protective and reparative native function of eye contour lipophilic structures, eye contour adipose tissues, eyelid adipose tissues or periocular zone adipocytes, is new. An independent claim is included for cosmetic treatment of the lipophilic structures of eye contour comprising administering the above composition topically or orally, to maintain and/or reinforce the protective and/or reparative function of the structures.
