Preventing and/or decreasing synthesis and/or release of melanin induced by inner stress by non-therapeutic measures, comprises use of a cosmetic composition containing a cell extract of plant belonging to Labiatae (Menthae family), as an activator. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) preventing and/or treating (M1) excess skin pigmentation induced by inner stress by non-therapeutic measures, involves use of a cosmetic composition containing a cell extract of plant belonging to Labiatae, as an activator; (2) preventing and/or treating dermatological disorders due to excess melanin generation induced by inner stress by non-therapeutic measures, involves use of a cosmetic composition containing a cell extract of plant belonging to Labiatae, as an activator; and (3) cosmetic composition comprising (a) cell extract of plant belonging to Labiatae, one or more decoloring agent that acts based on mechanism of tyrosinase inhibition or second messenger inhibition that stimulates melanin production indirectly in a medium, (b) cell extract of plant belonging to genus Mentha piperita, ascorbic acid or its derivative such as magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin-C PMg), glycosyl ascorbate (vitamin-C G), sodium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin-C PNa) and 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid in a medium, or (c) cell extract of plant belonging to Labiatae or Labiatae and one or more decoloring agent along with keratolysis exfoliation agent, anti-nitric oxide (NO) agent, anti-UV agent, skin whitening agent, anti-inflammatory agent, chelating agent and/or antioxidant.
