The method involves fabricating a three dimensional support plate in ceramic material comprising titanium dioxide, and forming a three dimensional pattern on a surface of the support plate. A photocatalytic coating is deposited on the three dimensional pattern which is a matrix of walls, where the photocatalytic coating comprises 10 percentage of titanium dioxide in the form of anatase. An independent claim is also included for a photocatalytic cell comprising a support.
