Voltage controller oscillator calibrating method for frequency synthesizer, involves determining impedance value for modifying output frequency of oscillator so as to correspond to reference frequency, and connecting impedance to oscillator
The method involves comparing a frequency (F-VCXO) of a reference voltage (V-CXO) to be obtained at an output of a voltage controlled oscillator (2) and a frequency (F-VCO) from an output signal of the oscillator. An impedance value is determined from a set of impedances for modifying an output frequency of the oscillator so as to correspond to a reference frequency, where each impedance corresponds to a frequency swing of the oscillator. The impedance is connected to the oscillator. An independent claim is also included for a device for calibrating an oscillator for adjusting an output frequency of the oscillator based on a control signal from the oscillator.
