The device has deformable and elongated support parts (22) e.g. oblong plate, arranged on both sides of a core (12), where the core is formed by alternately stacking flat tubes (14) and undulated separators (16). Each support part has a rigid central part (24) and a rigid lateral part (26) connected to the central part by a hinge region (28). The lateral part has a support zone to support retaining cords, and the support parts are directly supported on the separators. An independent claim is also included for a support device comprising a compression unit.
