Train has a traction chain (10) including electric motors (15) with a electric power input, and a main electric power supply (12) for supplying the chain. A commutator (18) electrically connects the power input to the power supply, and a backup power supply (14) comprising a set of batteries e.g. nickel metal hydride battery, lithium ion battery, nickel battery and lead gel battery, which are dimensioned for providing a sufficient useful electric energy to the motors to drive the train for a distance of 300 meters in case of loss of the power supply (12).
