The device has a channel (2) or intersecting hermetic channels whose each portion has valves (3, 4) allowing water and/or water vapor to pass through in a direction opposite to a water source (1). An aqueduct is heated by a heating device (5) using solar energy, at one time, so that boiling water (6) produces water vapor and pressure. The channels are cooled for producing suction of water from the source, at another time. The pressure difference of the source, water (6) and water vapor (7) is converted into mechanical energy and the produced water vapor is condensed into fresh water.
