The method involves encrypting a unique identifier, by using a RSA type public key encryption algorithm, where the identifier is associated to an engine control computer (10) in an unequivocal manner, where the identifier is a series number of the control computer. An independent claim is also included for a method for protecting an access to an engine control computer.
