The device has an antenna (2) subdivided into half-antennas (20, 21) which are carried by rigid supporting arms (22, 23). The supporting arms are mounted on a helicopter (1). A hydraulic actuator (3) controls the arms to raise portions (22`, 23`) on both sides of the body of the helicopter apart from operating periods of the antenna and to rejoin the portions for reconstituting the antenna during the flight of the helicopter at the time of the operating periods of the antenna. A locking unit (24) assembles the antennas (20, 21), when the antenna (2) is reconstituted.
