The device has a case (B) in which a reading and storing unit (14) is integrated, where the unit integrates a sensor (16) and an adapted processing software. Function keys (20, 22, 26, 30) store a reference relative to a golf course, a geo-positioning measurement (24) related to a ball position on a golf course and type of club that is utilized to play a shot from the measurement obtained by a differential global positioning system. An independent claim is also included for a geo positioning installation of a golf ball, comprising a local aerial.
