The baseboard has a housing-shaped structure that is mounted on a wall (5), where the structure has a projecting wing at the side that is fixed against the wall. The wing is designed in such a manner that the wing is covered by a wall covering (6). The thickness of the baseboard is the same as the thickness of the covering in such a manner that the upper surface of the baseboard with the wall upper surface lies on a line. A closing unit is attached to the structure to form a visible wall, where the wing is provided in the unit.
