A converter (10) has a cylindrical main part (12) receiving a monolithic (14) for de-polluting an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle. An inlet cone (16) is welded in an upstream of the main part and an outlet cone (18) is maintained in a downstream of the main part with the help of an elastic ring (30) placing an edge (28) against a shoulder (24), where a periphery of the ring is placed in a groove (27). A flange (26) is situated at outside of the shoulder, where the shoulder and the flange are formed by a part welded with the main part.
