PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a silica preliminary dispersion liquid and a silica finely pulverized particle dispersion liquid with excellent handleabilities when an ink accepting layer application liquid is prepared by using the silica finely pulverized particle dispersion liquid prepared by furthermore finely pulverizing and dispersing the silica preliminary dispersion prepared by preliminarily dispersing a gas phase process silica, and to provide a method for manufacturing the ink accepting layer application liquid using the silica finely pulverized particle dispersion.;SOLUTION: The silica preliminary dispersion liquid is manufactured by kneading the gas phase process silica in the presence of a boric acid compound and a cationic polymer and at pH in a range of 2-5, and the silica finely pulverized particle dispersion liquid is manufactured by furthermore finely pulverizing and dispersing the silica preliminary dispersion liquid.
