PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system, a virus infection diffusion preventing method, and a virus removal supporting method for facilitating virus infection diffusion preventing work or virus removal work.;SOLUTION: An operation host executes virus check on volume, and, when virus infection is detected, transmits the infection state information according to the detection result to a management host. The management host, based on the infection state information, executes a predetermined processing for putting the state of path between it and the volume infected with virus into an off-line state. The operation host executes virus check to the volume, and, when virus infection is detected, transmits the infection state information according to the detection result to a management host.
