PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal receiver which can freely acquire information from an optional optical signal transmitter, and an optical signal receiving method.;SOLUTION: In the optical signal receiver, the sum of partial signal light beams out of the plurality of signal light beams constitute an information transmission light and other signal light beams excluding the partial signal light beams out of the plurality of signal light beams offset the information transmission light, are simultaneously emitted from a plurality of light emission means of an optical signal transmitter. The optical signal receiver is provided with a light receiving means which is arranged so as to receive the plurality of signal light beams from the optical signal transmitter when a video image from the optical signal transmitter is caught and outputs a signal corresponding to the received signal light beams. When the video image from the optical signal transmitter, at least a part of which is shaded by a shading matter is caught and other signal light beams from the optical signal transmitter are shaded by the shading matter, only the partial signal light beams out of the plurality of signal light beams are received by the light receiving means and a signal corresponding to the information transmission light is output.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
