PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially easily adoptable method for producing a trans-ethylene derivative by which simplicity is high at high speed with high economical efficiency and a small load on environments. PSOLUTION: The method for producing the trans-ethylene derivative comprises a cis-trans isomerization reaction step of holding a cis-ethylene derivative represented by the general formula (1) (wherein, RSP1/SPand RSP2/SPrepresent each independently a prescribed group such as a 1-18C straight-chain or branched alkyl group) at 50 to 300C temperature in an inert atmosphere or a supercritical carbon dioxide atmosphere.
