REAL-TIME EARTHQUAKE MOTION DISTRIBUTION ESTIMATING METHOD USING S-WAVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real-time earthquake motion distribution estimating method using S-waves for detecting earthquakes by S-waves instead of P-waves of earthquakes and improving accuracy in earthquake prediction by using S-wave detecting seismographs arranged at various locations.;SOLUTION: In the real-time earthquake motion distribution estimating method using S-waves, a central earthquake observation device 4 receives indices of which values change in real time from seismographs 1-3 arranged in an area to be measured for detecting S-waves of earthquakes to edit earthquake motion distribution information of the area to be measured. On the earthquake motion distribution information, the central earthquake observation device 4 makes a report to facilities 5 and 6 in danger where S-waves have not reached yet in the area to be measured but are estimated to reach soon.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
