PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bank bill auditing device and auditing method capable of reducing the modification operation for a damaged bill level by an operator, by securing a discharged amount of regulated damaged bills.;SOLUTION: In the bank bill auditing method, each of the collectively supplied bank bills is supplied into a device, damage conditions of the supplied bank bills are detected, propriety of recirculating the bank bills is determined according to the detected results; the information related to an actual damaged bill ratio is provided, on the basis of the detected results; a damaged bill level as a standard at the time of determination for the propriety of its recirculation and a target damaged bill ratio are designated; and the actual damaged bill ratio is controlled so as to become the target damaged bill ratio by compensating the damaged bill level at a permissible range, in comparison with the target damaged bill ratio and actual damaged bill ratio.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
