PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating a leaf vegetable, a farm product, concretely spinach, having a low potassium content, comprising adjusting the amount of fertilized potassium at a cultivation step, by which the potassium content of the edible portions of the leaf vegetable can be reduced without affecting the growth of the edible portions of the leaf vegetable. PSOLUTION: The method for cultivating spinach by hydroponics comprises cultivating the spinach under the adjustment of the potassium content of a cultivation medium to obtain the leaf vegetable having a small potassium content. For the first 2 to 3 weeks in 5 cultivation weeks, KNOSB3/SBis added without reducing the content of potassium in a water culture solution. Subsequently, HNOSB3/SBor NaNOSB3/SBis added instead of the KNOSB3/SBin the same concentration, and the pH of the water culture solution is adjusted to 6.0 to 6.5 with NaOH.
