METHOD AND MEANS FOR OPERATING OXYGEN CUTTING MACHINE FOR CUTTING CASTING STRAND AND WORKPIECE BY OXYGEN CUTTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a means for operating an oxygen cutting machine for cutting a casting strand and a workpiece by oxygen cutting, by which method and means, the cut surface of the workpiece can have steady excellent quality, and the quantity of gas necessary for flame cutting can be reduced.;SOLUTION: In the method and the means for operating the oxygen cutting machine for cutting the casting strand and the steel workpiece by the oxygen cutting method in a cold state and a hot state in the continuous casting plant for ingots and slabs or on its down stream side, the pressure and the flow rate of heating gas and heating oxygen are changed in cutting the casting strand and/or the workpiece, and the pressure and the flow rate of the heating gas and the heating oxygen from the start point to the finish point of a cutting path are reduced stepwise at least by 25%. During this process, the steady excellent quality can be given to the cut surface of the workpiece, and the amount of the gas necessary for the oxygen cutting can be reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
