PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the automatic setting of the energy-saving mode shifting time is enabled based on the concrete processing operation to be executed inside the image forming apparatus. PSOLUTION: At least one of the processing to measure the number of printing sheets, the processing to measure the drawing processing time when the drawing processing is executed, the processing to measure the standby time before the printing start time is attained after shifting to the printing standby time, and the processing to measure the energy-saving mode time after shifting to the energy-saving mode before resetting from the energy-saving mode is performed. The processing is then set at the energy-saving mode shifting time meeting the information on at least one of the number of printing sheets, drawing processing time, standby state time, and the energy-saving mode time measured when the at least one of the processing is performed.
