PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white light-emitting device for an LCD, in which an LED can be used to realize high color reproducibility. PSOLUTION: The white light-emitting device includes a blue LED chip whose dominant wavelength is 430 to 455 nm, a red phosphor which is excited by the blue LED chip and represented by (Sr, Ba, Ca)AlSiNSB3/SB:Eu, and a green phosphor which is represented by (Sr, Ba, Ca)SB2/SBSiOSB4/SB:Eu. The chromaticity coordinate of a red light emitted by the red phosphor is located in a rectangular region, having four vertexes (0.5448, 0.4544), (0.7079, 0.2920), (0.6427, 0.2905), and (0.4794, 0.4633), the four vertexes having Chromaticity Coordinate System CIE 1931. The chromaticity coordinates of a green light emitted by the green phosphor is located in a rectangular region, having four vertexes (0.1270, 0.8037), (0.4117, 0.5861), (0.4197, 0.5316), and (0.2555, 0.5030).
