PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sand pumping and transporting apparatus which can efficiently pumps and transport settled sand in a sand sedimentation pond with small power and with high head, over a long distance.;SOLUTION: The sand pumping and transporting apparatus is equipped with a solid liquid recovery tank 3, a suction transportation pipe 2 and a vacuum pump 4 for decompressing the inside of the solid liquid recovery tank 3 and the suction transportation pipe 2. Further the sand pumping and transporting apparatus is equipped with an air releasing pipe 7 which is connected with the suction transportation pipe 2 at an upper position than the highest water level HWL of the sand sedimentation pond 1, an air injection tube 12 which has an air injection valve 15 and which is connected with the suction transportation pipe 2 at a connection 12a that is below a connection 7a of the air releasing pipe 7, namely in water of the sand sedimentation pond 1, and a control section 20 which repeats opening/closing of the air injection valve 15 and an air releasing valve 6 so that a water column for transportation longer by about length between these connections is formed in the suction transportation pipe 2 to enable transportation to be carried out by injecting pressurized air from the air injection tube.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
