PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to detect a link disconnection state of a line on the side of the opposite optical transmitter when an auto negotiation function specified in IEEE 802.3 is made into an off state regarding an optical transmitter and a line disconnection state notification method.;SOLUTION: A media converter 3, when it is detected that an optical receiving line from the opposite optical transmitter 4 is turned into the disconnection state, instructs a media converter 2 to make a link with a communication path switching device 1 into a disconnection state and stops output of an optical signal transmitted to a transmission line to the opposite optical transmitter 4. By stop of output of the optical signal, the opposite optical transmitter 4 makes the opposite optical transmitter 5 of a C station execute processing for making the link into the disconnection state and in a D station, a link with a communication path switching device (SW) 8 is disconnected by a fact that the link is turned into the disconnection state. By activation of link disconnection processing, a communication path is switched to a bypass route between the communication path switching device 1 of an A station and the communication path switching device (SW) 8 of the D station.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
