PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for completely removing a minute amount, around several ppb to several tens ppb, of an endocrine disturbing substance by using an inexpensive treating agent the preparation method of which is not complicated.;SOLUTION: An intermediate layer of a layered clay substance is hydrophobilized by a cationic surfactant such as the quaternary ammonium compound shown by [R₁N(R₂)(R₃)R₄]⁺X^- (wherein R₁ to R₄ are each hydrogen or an alkyl group and at least one of R₁ to R₄ is a 10-15C alkyl group; X^- is an anionic residual group such as a hydroxyl ion and a halogen ion) and the endocrine disturbing substance is taken into the hydrophobilized intermediate layer, so that a minute amount, around several ppb to several tens ppb, of the endocrine disturbing substance can be removed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
