PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for addition polymerization, used for producing an addition polymer having a high melt tension, a high melt flow rate and excellent processability, and to provide a method for producing an addition polymer having a high melt tension, a high melt flow rate and excellent processability.;SOLUTION: This catalyst for polymerizing ethylene with an α-olefin is obtained by contacting an olefin polymerization catalyst component comprising a cross-linked bis Cp hafnium compound, a non-cross-linked bis-substituted Cp zirconium compound, and a cross-linked bis Cp zirconium compound, a zinc compound, a R1OH (R1 is a halogenated hydrocarbon group), H2O and silica, and an organic aluminum compound.
