PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oil-free alkyd resin and a resin composition for an oil-free alkyd coating, more in detail, a resin composition which contains no tin, no lead and no zinc compounds so as to deal with resource saving and markets desiring environmental conservation, controls resin discoloration caused by deficiency of thermal stability stability being the defect of a titanium-based catalyst and has excellent heat resistance, especially useful for coating.;SOLUTION: The oily alkyd resin comprises 100 parts wt. of a polyester resin (A) having an acid value of 100-1,500 equivalents/10⁶ g and a hydroxy value of 10-1,000 equivalents/10⁶ g obtained by producing a polyester by a condensation polymerization reaction of a dicarboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol in the presence of a polymerization catalyst containing at least an aluminum compound and introducing an unsaturated group to the polyester and 1-50 parts wt. of resol-type phenol resin (B).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
