PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for a water-based alkyd coating, more in detail, a resin composition which contains no tin, no lead and no zinc compounds so as to deal with resource saving and markets desiring environmental conservation, controls resin discoloration caused by deficiency of thermal stability being a drawback of a titanium-based catalyst and has excellent heat resistance, especially useful for coating.;SOLUTION: The (meth)acrylic modified oily alkyd resin is obtained by using a natural fatty acid ester and a polycarboxylic acid anhydride as acid components and a 2-50C polyhydric alcohol as an alcohol component in the presence of a polymerization catalyst containing at least an aluminum compound to give an oily alkyd resin and subjecting the oily alkyd resin to graft polymerization with a polymerizable monomer and has an acid value of ≥50eq/106 g.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
