PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve prediction accuracy of accent of a composite word which is not registered in a composite word dictionary.;SOLUTION: The reading information creating apparatus comprises: a text input section 2; a morphemic analyzing section 3 for dividing the text into word groups; composite word dictionary recording sections 81 and 82 for recording data including data for expressing an accent connection mode of the composite word; a composite word search section 4 for searching an included composite word which is included in the divided word group in the composite word dictionary recording sections 81 and 82; a similar composite word search section 5 in which, when the included composite word is not found as a result of searching, a similar composite word which is similar is searched and accent information is updated according to the accent connection mode of the similar compound word; an accent connection rule application section 6 for updating the accent information on the basis of the accent connection mode of the similar composite word; and a reading information creation section 7 for creating reading information of the text including the accent information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
