PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent material suitable for absorbing and removing metal mercury in an exhaust gas.;SOLUTION: The absorbent material for absorbing the metal mercury in the exhaust gas is characterized by that molybdic anhydride or tungsten trioxide is deposited for 5atom% or more to an inactive carrier such as silica, titania, alumina or zirconia. Even under a condition that a Cl concentration is low, by bringing the exhaust gas containing the metal mercury into contact with a metal mercury absorbent material whose main component is molybdic anhydride or tungsten trioxide, the metal mercury concentration in the exhaust gas is reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
