PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detoxification agent capable of reducing hexavalent chromium in waste into harmless trivalent chromium easily and quickly without giving ill effects to human body, in light of such a present situation that there is no effective settling means for the settlement of serious environmental contamination problems caused by contaminated soil and industrial waste containing extremely harmful hexavalent chromium.;SOLUTION: The detoxification agent for contaminated soil and industrial waste containing hexavalent chromium consists essentially of one kind or more of calcium carbonate, calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide and is prepared by compounding one kind or more of ascorbic acid or isoascorbic acid, or its sodium salt, potassium salt or ammonium salt of 1 wt.% or more, preferably of 5 to 10 wt.%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
