PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal control system, traffic signal control unit, and light unit driver capable of controlling the signal light unit by means of a plurality of traffic signal control units, preventing a situation incapable of controlling the signal light unit, and dramatically improving the reliability of controlling the signal light unit as compared to the conventional method, and signal light unit therefor.;SOLUTION: A main traffic signal control unit 100 and a sub-traffic signal control unit 110 respectively output identifiers and signal light unit output commands to each light unit drive 200 through a network 50. Each light unit drive 200 accepts the signal light unit output command which is output from the main traffic signal control unit 100 having the highest identifier priority. When a failure occurs in the main traffic signal control unit 100, making it impossible to output the identifier and the signal light unit output command, each light unit drive 200 drives a signal light unit 3, based on the signal light unit output command which is output from the sub-traffic signal control unit 110 identified by the identifier having a second highest priority.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
